Optique captures renewed attention in Semantic Web and Digital Humanities

Between the 5th and the 10th of November 2015, Benjamin Cogrel from the Bolzano team has presented Ontop and the Optique project during two events in France: SemWeb.pro (https://semweb.pro/) in Paris and the seminar about “Ontology in Digital humanities” (https://masa.hypotheses.org/197) in Tours.

Our presentation of Ontop and the Statoil use case in Paris has been highly appreciated, according to the organizers. The audience was mainly composed of industrials and public institution representatives. For most of them, it was their first contact with the Ontology-Based Data Access approach.

In Tours we could observe that the Digital Humanities community was more aware of the OBDA approach and very interested in the federated scenarios. We received strong positive feedback from early-adopters of Ontop and we expect that Exareme and Ontop will gain new users.
