The Optique Project continued its positive participation at this years International Semantic Web Conference (ISWC), this time in Kobe, Japan. ISWC is a large conference with 430 participants, making 326 submissions, whereof 75 papers was accepted.
Optique was noted again at the ISWC. Notable contribution came from Evgeny Kharlamov with 3 presentations and 4 demos. Participation came from Martin Giese and Vidar Klungre from UIO. Evgeny Kharlamov and Ian Horrocks from UOXF, Diego Calvanese and Guohui Xiao from FUB. Christian Neuenstadt from UZL, and Konstantina Bereta from UOA.
Winner in the “Best Application Paper” category was Ian Horrocks, together with Robert Piro, Peter Hendler, Yavor Nenov, Boris Motik, Michael Rossman and Scott Kimberly, for the paper of Semantic Technologies for Data Analysis in Health Care.
FUB also received the Semantic Web journal 2016 Outstanding Paper Award for Ontop: Answering SPARQL Queries over Relational Databases
Great interest in Optique was shown at ISWC. Many new connections were made, and there were a genuine interest for using Optique results for data integration issues.
